// about

Hi, I’m Shane. I’ve been there.

I’m a senior SWE with ADHD and depression. Not “overcame,” not “in spite of.” With. I’ve shipped software, led projects, and mentored engineers while managing a brain that doesn’t run on the default settings. That lived experience, the years of figuring out what actually works, is the whole reason this practice exists.

Mentoring has always been the most fulfilling part of my work. Async Mind makes it deliberate: a small coaching practice for people navigating imposter syndrome, executive function struggles, burnout, and the gap between what they can do and what they’re getting done.

// what this is
+ Coaching on functional, forward-looking goals: getting unstuck, managing energy and attention, navigating feedback, rebuilding confidence
+ Values-based decision-making, executive function strategies, self-compassion practices, regulation techniques
+ Free, open resources for everyone: the professional-development equivalent of open source
// what this isn’t
- Therapy, diagnosis, or treatment. I’m not a licensed counselor, and I don’t pretend to be. If that’s what you need, I’ll help you find it
- Executive acceleration coaching, interview prep, or “10x” optimization culture
- A funnel. No email gates, no upsells, no packages
ethics

I operate under the ICF Code of Ethics voluntarily. It’s a recognized external standard, adopted because the audience deserves one.

confidentiality

Session notes live in dedicated, encrypted storage. What you tell me stays between us, with the narrow legal exceptions spelled out in the client agreement.

deliberately small

A few clients at a time, alongside my engineering work. Small on purpose, so every engagement gets real attention.
